Home Décor Trends: Rug Layering

Everybody knows that buying a throw rug can be an easy and inexpensive way to give your room a make-over, and a lot of people are surprised to see just how much the addition of a couple of rugs can change the flow and feel of a room.  Are you having trouble deciding if you should purchase a few wool circular rugs or large square rugs made out of rayon?  When you're picking out rugs for your home it can be difficult to decide which ones to buy, but now you won't have to.  There's a new rug decorating trend that has the home décor industry a buzz, and it can help make choosing your rugs a lot easier.

Rug layering involves exactly what you'd think it would, all you need to do is stack one area rug on top of another to give rooms an eclectic and lived in look.  If you want to bring the layer look into your home all you need is one small/medium sized rug and one larger rug.  You can choose rugs of any color, but ideally you'd like the larger rug to be a solid color and so you can make you brightly colored or elaborately designed smaller rug stand out more.

Any room in your house could benefit from the layered rug look.  Your living room or a high traffic area in your home would be one of the best places to layer carpets.  Layered rugs could also be beneficial to have in nurseries or play rooms.  If you have children your layered rug has the potential to cover up a nasty stain, and it also gives your kids a nice soft area to play in.
